Joe Nelson, President

Joe Nelson has been designing and building custom homes in Guilford and Forsyth counties for over 10 years and has been in construction for over 30 years. Joe is very enthusiastic about each new project, and works diligently to satisfy discerning homebuyers. He believes that quality, creativity and energy conservation make our homes unique. He enjoys golf and boating with friends and family.

Travis Nelson, Operations Manager

Travis lives in Greensboro, NC with his wife, Chantel, and his children, Tyson and Gabrielle, ages 4 and 2. After graduating from NC State with a B.S. in Construction Engineering and Management, Travis was a project superintendant for a national home builder in Raleigh, NC before joining Fireside Homes in 2005. Travis keeps projects moving efficiently, while giving homebuyers the time and information they need to make personal selections. In his spare time, he plays basketball and golf.

Kevin Grubb, Project Superintendent

Kevin, a UNC-Greensboro graduate, is a licensed real estate agent who enjoys the hands-on involvement of custom home-building. His creativity and eye for detail keep him busy on the job site, as well as in the office. He and his wife, Sallie, have a one-year-old daughter, Mirabella. Kevin enjoys mountain biking, golf, and wakeboarding.

Sherrie Nelson, Design Coordinator

Sherrie has made design selections for over 40 homes, including numerous award winning Parade of Homes and Holiday Showcase entries. Her role is to coordinate all of the elements in the home, ensuring that the completed product flows harmoniously inside and out. She lends her experience to homebuyers as they meet with vendors and local artisans, helping make their vision a reality.
