Do we need to have a house plan before our first meeting?
No. Our initial meeting could be a discussion about a home plan that you own or a brainstorming session about your sketches and ideas. We will assist you in designing or selecting a plan that fits your needs and style, and one that works within your budget.

How many plans do you have available?
Our office has a treasure box of house plans and pictures of homes we’ve built. We also can direct you to web sites and resources for custom designing, so the possibilities are limitless.

How long will it take me to build a custom home?
Our homes are typically built in 6-7 months. Our experienced staff coordinates design selections and your work schedule to make sure that the job runs efficiently and that you have time to make selections without being hurried.

Where are your building lots located?
We have lots in Greensboro, Browns Summit, Summerfield, and Oak Ridge. We can also build on a lot that you own, or help you find a building site that works best for you.

How do we obtain financing to have Fireside build a home on our lot?
We have relationships with area bankers and mortgage consultants that can streamline this process for you.

My friend had a bad experience with cost overruns. How can we control change order costs on our home?
Our detailed discussions about plans and specifications will help you to budget and prioritize the optional features that will characterize your home. We’ll also discuss options that would be typical for homes at your price point, and options for pre-piping, wiring, or framing for future improvements. Our allowance amounts for lighting, cabinets, countertops, appliances, etc., will be realistic and based on your priorities. We also provide you with some assistance in shopping for major purchases, and offer many practical, cost-efficient ways to save money.

What type of license do you have?
Our company holds the NC Building Contractor license, which means we are qualified to build commercial and institutional buildings, as well as residential homes. Our license is “Unlimited” which means we are a strong, solid company with assets that don’t limit the value of projects we can undertake. We also attend workshops and educational seminars that keep us current on NC code changes, through our membership in the Greensboro Builder’s Association.
